If you were one of a hundred or so grey water snails in a hot pond, minding your own business …
Then a small child leaning over and fingering the frog’s heads probably wouldn’t automatically make you fear for your life.
So spare a thought for one poor chap who got ‘examined’ today after the frogs wisely legged it.

Fancying someone ...
(According to my nearly 5 year old, who rolled his eyes at my ignorance)
Is when you love them and want to marry them.
What do I know.

How to make teenage boys wash behind their ears ...
Minnie had her second injection today and a thorough vet's check.
Apparently she had ear mites when she was with her litter and needs daily ear drops.
The mites are not contagious, unless I suppose you have big spangly spaniel ears, and then they might be.
But that's not quite the story I told the boys.
They have never had such clean ears.

Meet Minnie, our 8 week old Springer Spaniel ...

We are using the Gina Ford method of puppy training.

No fat, no egg Weetabix Cake ...
This recipe is courtesy of Chris, and has been contributing to my expanding waistline this week.
The children especially love the bit when they are allowed to crumble the weetabix into the bowl with their fingers.
So blame her if they try it at breakfast.
2 crushed weetabix
1 cup sultanas
2 cups self-raising flour
1 cup sugar
Mix together then add 1 cup milk and 1 tsp mixed spice. Stir again and pour out into a greased cake tin. Bake at 325F for approx 45mins.
I love the bit when it comes out of the oven - hot and begging for butter.

"There's 100 metres of milk in this bottle mummy ..."

I think someone must have been doing measuring at school.
